On a daily basis countless LGBTQIA+ individuals face discrimination—not just in one aspect of their lives, but across many: in their homes, at their workplaces, in public spaces, and even when seeking basic, life-saving health care. This isn’t just about unfair treatment; it’s about the real, lasting harm that this discrimination causes—to their mental health, physical well-being, and financial security. 

Imagine having to hide who you are to feel safe."Imagine being so afraid of judgment or discrimination that you avoid meeting even your most basic needs—like using a restroom, going to the doctor, or buying groceries— because you fear being stared at, questioned, or outright denied service." Imagine constantly adjusting how you speak, dress, or move through the world just to reduce the risk of being targeted. For many LGBTQIA+ people, especially transgender individuals and people of color, this is their daily reality.

What’s especially heartbreaking is that younger LGBTQIA+  individuals are reporting these struggles at even higher rates than previous generations. Instead of growing up in a more accepting world, too many are learning to live with fear and trauma from an early age.
